Pleasant House was a nice little, English inspired restaurant that appears to have recently started a brewing operation. The beers were mostly British styles, as was the food. We stopped in on our way back to the Chicago-land area. The interior looked like it was trying to be an old English pub, but everything was just a little too new and clean to pull off that vibe. There were only five beers on tap which we sampled in a flight, and I was a bit surprised at the quality. Being a new, small operation, that was originally just a restaurant I had low expectations. If a fellow traveler is interested in the small-town scene, Pleasant House is a nice stop for a lunch and a cold beer.
